Why we chose WordPress

Reviewing a website design on screen
In short
  • WordPress is open source, so your site isn’t locked to a single vendor.
  • Custom Gutenberg blocks make updating content easy without breaking the layout.
  • A properly built and maintained WordPress site is fast and secure.

We’re often asked why we still build with WordPress when there are dozens of newer options on the market. The answer is simple: done right, it’s still the best tool for most businesses.

The site is yours, not the vendor’s

WordPress is open source. If our partnership ever ends, the site, the content and the code stay with you, and any WordPress developer can pick up where we left off. Closed platforms are a different story.

A good website doesn’t tie the client to a vendor. It ties the client to good service.

Updates without the fear

Many people have used a page builder where one wrong click breaks the whole page. Instead, we build custom Gutenberg blocks designed specifically for your content. The text and images change, the look stays the same.

Try the block editor in the hero of our WordPress services page. You can edit the headline right on the page.

Speed and security come from doing the work right

WordPress’s reputation for being slow and vulnerable usually comes from heavy themes and outdated plugins. With a lightweight theme, few plugins and proper maintenance, WordPress is fast and secure.

  1. Lightweight theme with no unnecessary code
  2. Few plugins, each one justified
  3. Regular updates tested in a staging environment

When is WordPress not the right choice?

In all honesty: if you’re building a complex application where content management plays a minor role, another technology may be a better fit. When that’s the case, we’ll tell you straight.
